As an organization, we are committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (“AODA”), including the related Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulations (the “IASR”)

Agropur Cooperative (“Agropur”) is committed to ensure equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration, and we are committed to meet the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner [1]. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the AODA.

MULTI-YEAR ACCESSIBILITY PLAN:

This multi-year accessibility plan demonstrates our ongoing efforts to prevent and remove barriers to accessibility, to meet our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (the “AODA”) including the related Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulations (the “IASR”), and to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

This plan applies to Agropur Cooperative. It is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years and/or when required.

 

General Requirements and Communication Standards:

Establishment of Accessibility policies:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review and assessment of our current facilities, policies, and practices to identify barriers to accessibility.
  • Draft Statement of Commitment for the website.
  • Draft Integrated Accessibility Policy:
    • Review existing policies and procedures to ensure they align with the AODA standards.
    • Make policy available and provide an accessible format, upon request.

Training

  • Notify applicants that accommodations are available, upon request.

Informing employees of Supports

  • All current and new employees in Ontario will be informed and receive updates regarding our policies and procedures related to accommodations for employees with disabilities.
    • The above will be communicated in various ways including new employee onboarding and through HC representative in our Ontarian plants.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports for employees

  • When requested by an employee with a disability, Agropur will consult the employee and provide or arrange the suitable accessible formats and communication supports needed to perform the employee’s job and other information that is generally available to other employees.

Workplace Emergency Response Information

  • Provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees who have a disability (when necessary)
    • This plan could involve, with the employee's approval, assigning another Agropur employee to help the individual with a disability.
    • The personalized plan will be put into action at the earliest feasible moment once Agropur becomes aware of the employee's disability.
