Agropur celebrates success at 2025 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest
APPLETON, WI, MARCH 6, 2025 – Agropur is proud to announce that 10 of its high-quality cheeses earned medals in their respective categories at the 2025 United States Championship Cheese Contest, held March 4-6, 2025, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
“We are incredibly proud of our dedicated cheesemakers and their successes in this year’s contest,” said Jean-Phillipe Asselin, President, Cheese, US. “Their achievements highlight the commitment and skill they put into our high-quality cheeses and meeting the needs of our customers every day.”
Agropur’s team in Lake Norden, S.D. won three medals, including best-in-class awards for mozzarella and part-skim mozzarella. Our Jerome, Idaho plant also won best in class in the reduced-sodium cheese category. Our winning cheeses are as follows:
Class 5 – Cheddar, Aged 2+ years: Agropur – Weyauwega (third place)
Class 14 – Mozzarella: Agropur – Lake Norden (first place)
Class 15 – Mozzarella, Part Skim: Agropur – Lake Norden (first place)
Class 18 – Provolone, Mild: Agropur – Lake Norden (second place)
Class 20 – Provolone, Smoked: Agropur – Luxemburg (second and third place)
Class 27 – Feta: Agropur – Weyauwega (second place)
Class 66 – Reduced Sodium Cheeses: Agropur – Jerome (first place)
Class 66 – Reduced Sodium Cheeses: Agropur – Luxemburg (second and third place)
