Our members are determined to implement best practices

Stockmanship workshops for free-stall dairy cattle were offered on three occasions in December, an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the Agriconseils of Montérégie. A training day that combined an in-class session, followed by the application of learnings on farm. A collaboration with Dr. Frédéric Tremblay, a dynamic veterinarian, who will also be the lead for the workshops at Agropur members’ spring meetings in 2020.

These knowledge transfer opportunities are indispensable for putting into practice various dairy cattle handling concepts based on the animals’ natural behaviours, which reduces stress and injuries, and improves work efficiency.

Always aware of the commitment of our dairy producers to implement best practices on the farm, Agropur paid the registration fee for 20 members to encourage their participation in these workshops.
