Coronavirus 2019-nCoV

Coronavirus 2019-nCoV

Agropur would like to inform our customers of our risk evaluation and practices regarding the recent Novel Coronavirus outbreak. Of course, we care about the well-being of our employees, customers, community, and are staying on top of the issue.

Providing safe food is embodied in our quality vision and in our core values. We require that our local and international suppliers share our commitment to our consumers and clients. Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of 2019-nCoV associated with imported goods.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the risk of coronavirus transmission through food is very low. In addition, coronaviruses have low ability to survive independently on surfaces, including product packaging at frozen, refrigerated or room temperature.

At Agropur, our corporate program for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) includes employee awareness and training. Employees should report any illnesses: No person suffering from a disease likely to be transmitted through food, nor carrier of such disease, is permitted to work inside a food manufacturing area or in any capacity where there is a risk of direct contamination of food and food contact packaging. Hygiene practices are in place and are maintained including proper hand washing, food contact and non-food contact surfaces sanitation. In addition, we have reinforced our training for all employees on communicable diseases and strategies to prevent the spread of illness.

Rest assured, Agropur is prepared with a contingency plan, should the need arise. We do not foresee any disruption in our operations. We have multiple notifications posted to protect our workforce from COVID-19. We have adequate back up of suppliers, and a network of plants with capacity that we can rely on should this situation get to a    pandemic state.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control are continuing to monitor the outbreak and encourages that standard food safety practices are maintained and enforced. Agropur will continue to closely track this evolving situation.

We trust that this letter provides assurance with regards to the quality of our products. Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to help protect our Agropur family, business partners and customers. For any questions or additional information, do not hesitate to contact your local sales rep or Agropur at 920-944-0990.
