The first meal of the day is the most important, and breakfast should include a mix of foods that are nutritious and healthy. Breakfast choices affect a person’s energy levels and well-being throughout the day. Whey protein is an ideal breakfast choice.
Consume the ideal protein
Choosing whey protein at breakfast is a quick and easy way to ensure nutrition and balance. A 2018 San Francisco Chronicle article noted that protein consumption at breakfast can increase alertness.
"A meal rich in excellent quality protein raises tyrosine levels in the brain and that helps produce neurotransmitters that give it energy and make it feel alert," the article says.
Proteins not only keep the brain alert, but they are also excellent appetite regulators, according to a University of Missouri study.
Eating protein at breakfast increases satiety levels longer, which limits snacking and overeating throughout the day, researchers found.
Tel Aviv University research indicates that adding whey protein to breakfast is also a way to lose weight. Adding a tablespoon of protein with morning yogurt, oatmeal or hot cakes can lead to significant positive changes in health.
