Agropur releases its 2022 ESG Report

Agropur strives to produce wholesome, high-quality dairy products that are better for the planet and strengthen our communities. It’s an important part of our promise, “Better Dairy. Better World.”

It is why we are pleased to announce the release of our 2022 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report.

The new report details Agropur’s commitment to sustainable development and our determination to be part of the solution through responsible dairy processing. It is Agropur’s second report detailing our ESG performance and covers the fiscal year that ran from November 1, 2021 to October 29, 2022.

Highlights of the report include:

• Our greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, which were approved by the Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi) in 2022. Targets include a 30% reduction of GHG emissions generated by our plants in Canada and the United States by 2031.
• The launch of our Sustainable Farms Pilot Project, which sets forth to strengthen communication and collaboration on sustainability issues with our dairy farmer members in Canada.
• Our role in a $50 million, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Climate Smart Grant for implementing climate smart regenerative agriculture production practices.
• Details of charitable giving by Agropur and its employees. Examples include our activity to reduce food insecurity, which include donations in the US to organizations such as Feeding America. Agropur also donated $1.7 million worth of dairy products to food banks across Canada.

The goal of the report is to be transparent with our stakeholders on ESG issues, in line with the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative.
