True Story: Erin Daehn

Tell us about your current position.

I am currently a production manager at the Weyauwega, WI plant and oversee the feta and conversion departments. I work with four different teams to help make and pack the best feta cheese in the US.

Tell us about your training opportunities throughout your time at Agropur.

Agropur gave me the opportunity to participate in the LeadR program, which taught me a lot about communication and leadership. I was given the opportunity to go to CDR for a cheesemaking course and learned more about the cheesemaking process. My favorite opportunity was a collaboration with our plant in Jerome. I was able to learn ways to improve our new line’s processes from their conversion line.

Tell us about your career path and how you have gotten to where you are today? (please specify positions held and duties, within each role at Agropur)

I started with Agropur in the Graduate Rotational Program. My first assignment focused on operations, and I assisted the Weyauwega plant with the startup of their new conversion line. I learned a lot during those first six months through working with experienced employees in each department on different tasks including scheduling, quality, maintenance and safety.

I was offered a position as the new conversion supervisor, and I’ve been at Weyauwega ever since. As the conversion supervisor, I was able to help the production team become more comfortable with the new equipment and work with operators to improve efficiencies and troubleshooting techniques.

Just a few months ago, I took over as the production manager for the feta and conversion departments. I’m very excited to help lead this department in a time of expansion and growth!

How has Agropur supported your growth within the company?

Agropur has given me the opportunity and support to take risks, make decisions and learn from my mistakes. I am always able to find someone to answer questions or offer advice in any situation.

Why do you love Agropur?

I love Agropur because of the people and the quality products we produce. I have met so many incredible mentors from all departments and positions. Many people in my department have been here for 10, 15, 20+ years! I look forward to working with my team everyday to learn more and work together to grow our process.
